The Groz Universal Surface Gauge is a versatile and precise tool used by machinist’s and toolmakers for scribing lines, transferring measurements and probing surfaces in inspection work. The hardened and ground base serves as an accurate reference surface. The machined Vee groove in the base allows for easy use on curved surfaces, while the Vee groove at the front end enables the spindle to adjust to any angle, making it a useful height or depth gauge. 

The two retractable pins of our Universal Surface Gauge allow for easy location against the edge of a surface plate or T-slot, and the scriber holder enables the attachment of a dial indicator. The grooves on the side provide a comfortable grip and the well-tapered scriber allows for better sighting. The scriber tip is also hardened to 55-60 HRC for durability.
